My Guitar Soundfiles

Background

I originally started this website as a way to share my soundfiles with people. I've been playing guitar for about 10 years now, but only really having fun with it for the last three or so. I'm not a great player by any stretch, but I do have fun with it. So here are a few samples I've recorded.

You'll notice that most of it is based around U2's music...that's all thanks to the U2- Recording Yahoo group. I went from having just a guitar and amp to having a guitar gear addiction. But it's a lot of fun, and that's the point, isn't it?

Korg A3

Mysterious Funk - a clip using the Korg A3, with a Mysterious Ways backing track made by Edi from the U2-Recording Yahoo Group.

Digitech DHP-33

Shimmery - a clip using the Digitech DHP-33, which is a pitch-shifter and harmonizer similar to the Digitech IPS-33b. The "Poor Man's Eventide." This illustrates the "shimmer" technique used by Edge on a lot of songs (like "All I Want Is You" and "Running to Stand Still" for instance).

Build Your Own Clone Delay

This is a sweet pedal. I put a little description and some pictures up here, on my projects page. It's an analog-voiced digital delay with an effects loop that allows you to add outboard effects to the delayed signal (leaving the original signal unaffected).

My apologies for the signal clipping, especially on the filter clip...that's my crappy soundcard, not the effect or the amp! I'll try to re-record at some point...

Clip One - Tremolo (Tremulus Lune added to loop)

Clip Two - Vibrato (100% wet pitch modulation added from Pearl CH-02 Chorus pedal)

Clip Three - Filter (various settings on Line 6 Filter Pro)

Random Clips

Zooey - a clip using a very simple Wah à Delay chain. If you're a U2 fan, you probably (hopefully) recognize the intro riff to Zooropa.

In conclusion . . .

That's about it for now! Hope you've enjoyed my sonic tour. One of these days I'll get some gear pictures uploaded. Hopefully I'll get to re-record a few of those clips, as well!
