For my next attempt to rehouse a Sovtek Big Muff Pi, I was working on another army green model.
I also worked on a few USA Muffs in the interim, including this nasty-looking "handyman's special" I got off eBay. I'm not sure what the extra pot was for because this thing was Dead On Arrival (hence the super low cost). Anyway, I refinished the enclosure, put on some classic graphics, replaced the scratchy/dead pots, and added true bypass and a DC power jack. My finished product looked quite a bit better.
Anyway, back to the next green Sovtek rehouse...
I ended up using the design from my last rehousing job by request, even though the green Sovtek Muffs didn't use that graphics scheme. This was actually kinda nice, since I had put a lot of work into Photoshopping the graphics to get them just right.
Here is the PCB for the green Sovtek muff, with all the important bits labeled:
And here is a gallery showing some gut shots and the finished product.
Easy enough, huh?
